Mrs. Jensen’s News October 8-12th, 2018 We are learning! This week we focused on the letters Aa through Ee. We will spend a day on each letter again so we’ve gone through the alphabet twice. We’ll then spend more time on each letter. In math, we covered numbers 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Your child has learned many different ways to count and show numbers. The kids were so excited to read their first book and to bring it home to show you! Please practice our sight words at home. Red, white, yellow, black, blue, green, brown, like, am, no, I, a, see We read THE LITTLE SCHOOL BUS and used our amazing words (1st-6th), and discussed characters in our story. We couldn’t believe all the rhyming word we found in one story! We learned about fire safety by visiting the fire station and reading several books. Ask your child: *What do you do if your clothing catches on fire? *Where is our meeting place once we are out of our house? *What two exits do you have in your room? *Should you grab toys or animals before getting out? *What number do you call in an emergency? Important Dates Oct. 15th – Conferences Oct. 18th – Buffalo River Pumpkin Patch *DRESS WARM! Oct. 18th-19h – NO SCHOOL-MEA Oct. 24th – Early Out Reminders Field Trip Info.- For parents volunteers/chaperones, please arrive at 8:45 as we will load the bus at 9:00. If you are planning to follow the bus or meet us there, be sure to let me know so we aren’t waiting for you to arrive. Please dress your child for the weather – including good walking shoes. Those bringing home lunch: Boden, Montana, Dane, Aiyana, Carlos, Avery, Aubree, Serenity *Those not listed have requested a cold school lunch. Mrs. Jensen jensenj@breckenridge.k12.mn.us
