Switches to faster insight to capture market trends The need: Without accurate sales data, NIBCO lacked the ability to spot trends. The company risked missing out on valuable new business opportunities, or manufacturing low demand products. Existing systems were not able to produce the relevant reports quickly enough to help the company respond as rapidly as it would like. The solution: To accelerate business insight, NIBCO implemented the SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator, based on IBM® BladeCenter® HS22 servers, analyzing 3 TB of operational data in near-real-time. “We have gone through many refreshes of our hardware systems, and have seen tremendous growth over the years. IBM technology has played a huge role in helping us to manage that growth effectively.” — Gary Wilson, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, NIBCO INC. The benefit: Cut time taken to answer order queries, in one case from over 17 minutes to around one minute, a 92 percent improvement. Reduced average time taken to run reporting queries by more than 85 percent. Increased employee productivity between 2008 and 2012 by 29 percent per employee Boosted on-time order completion rate from 89.2 percent to 97.6 percent, improving customer satisfaction and encouraging repeat business.
