LAA Judging Criteria & Process [Company Name] [Submission Title]

Judging Process Round 1: Pre-selection against Minimum LAA Entry Criteria Each company, wishing to submit an entry to LAA, must submit an Entry Form with a brief overview of their entry (Problem/Objective, Solution and Results) Judges review the entry summaries. All entries which meet minimum criteria, are invited to submit a full Entry Template and notified to schedule a date for a site visit. These Entry Templates to be received by closing date. Those entrants not meeting minimum criteria, will be contacted by one of the judges with a "recovery" suggestion or a suggestion to delay the entry for a year. Round 2: Site Visits A Champion Judge is assigned to each entry with a minimum of 2 judges attending the site visit. At a special Judges meeting, the Champion Judges give feedback on visits and a short-list selection is made. Short-listed entrants are invited to present to the full Judging Panel. Round 3: Evaluation against Final Presentation All Judges score each entry during the Final Presentations Round 4: Final Scoring Meeting Final list of entries is discussed - Judges have the responsibility to submit their scores after listening to inputs from others. Final results are made after this scoring process.

LAA Assessment Criteria No Criteria Guideline Self-Assessment Weight 1 Business results To what extent has the company as a whole improved as a result of this initiative in terms of both short and long term financial performance indicators? 10% 2 Sustainability To what level has the implemented logistics solution been proven to be sustainability in the medium to long term? 3 Customer satisfaction Measures the improvement achieved in customer satisfaction for the company, manifested in the benefits of the logistical improvement, their knowledge of how to capitalise on this improvement, and how sustainable the benefit would be to their customers. 20% 4 Operational improvements Measures the functional performance improvement on operational level (in areas such as predictability, reliability, availability, speed, costs, working capital) of the entry that resulted in the financial benefits and improved competitive capability.

LAA Assessment Criteria No Criteria Guideline Self-Assessment Weight 5 Strategy, Analysis & Planning What was the level to which the Analysis, Planning and Execution of the implementation was done and did it form part of an overall Business Improvement Strategy? 2.5% 6 Collaboration/ Integration To what level did the change initiative involve active co-operation and integration with upstream and downstream partners in the supply chain? 7 Information management To what extent have they been successful in addressing the need for logistics information management (not to be confused with the implementation of information technology)? 8 Quality management To what level did this initiative form part of and consider the need for logistics quality assurance and control and adherence to quality standards such as ISO 9000, etc? 9 People management To what level did this initiative consider the employees involved and or impacted by the change in terms of it providing individual growth (education, creating career advancement opportunities) and improved job security? 5%

(eg Did they perform an environmental impact assessment?) 5% 11 Impact on society To what extent does the entry impact on society in both positive and negative ways? (Score the "entry" not the company) 12 Change management Describes the level to which Change Management was successfully planned and executed as part of this improvement initiative. 2.5% 13 Leadership and innovation within logistics Describes the example set by the company to inspire and drive continuous improvement in logistics, as well as to what extent the entry could be regarded as world class (including quality of submission documentation). 12.5% 14 Relative performance to other entries Rate the submission in relation to current and past entries. (eg Can it be considered World Class, and to what level did it contribute new benchmarks for the Industry?) 10%
