January 28th--NC Check In Math Test February 1st – Report Cards Mrs. Ross The Frog Unit ends but…  Frogs: Our goal is to finish frogs today but we may go into next week to complete our Freaky Frog books since the students are so excited about them…and it takes them longer to type!!! New unit will be announced next week! It’s a good one… Reading Groups: After assessing the students with mClass, I will be changing up their reading groups and then starting “Book Clubs” with each group. Keep reading at home & ask challenging questions!!! Mrs. Drager Math: We are starting a new unit on Area/Perimeter. This unit will use multiplication on a daily basis. Science: Our final test will be on Wednesday. We will be reviewing as a group on Tuesday. I sent home a study guide today in Friday folders. Math Journals: Students may need a new math journal. Please check to see if your child needs one. A replacement journal can be found at Target or Walmart. *Inclement Weather Forms: We have sent home the Inclement Weather forms you signed at the beginning of the year for you to review. Please send them back ASAP indicating whether your child’s Inclement Weather plan has changed. *Parent Academy: We are hoping to see you all at Parent Academy on the 24th. There will be great information sessions that will cover a myriad of topics. Sessions start at 6pm and end at 7:20. *NC Math Check Testing: NC Check Testing will take place on January 28th. Testing will last about 90 minutes. These tests are designed to “check in” with students mastery of the standards already taught. Topics that it will cover will be Multiplication and Division facts & word problems, solving for unknowns in multiplication and division facts, and 2 step word problems. A letter from Mr. Mack is in their Friday folder. *Report Cards: Today was the end of Quarter 2.. Report cards will be going home on February 1st. Keep an eye out for them! *Scholastic Book Orders: Order forms went home last Friday, but you can go to scholastic.com/bookclubs to order books! Use code RRRG7 and make sure your order is with Jean Ross (not Drager). Online orders are due Friday, January 25th! *Book Collection: We are collecting books for Wake Up & Read next week (Jan. 22-25). See flyer in Friday folder.
