GTS is mandatory for PhD students at Chalmers 15 credits in GTS is mandatory before PhD examination 9 credits shall be finalised before the Licentiate degree

Popular Science Presentation, oral and written Mandatory” is a message: use the opportunity to connect with someone At least one popular science presentation. And a written popular science description of their research. Support offered: Advanced communication course/presentation skill and Workshops Audience that is not part of their own reserach field. General public and upper higher secondary school are interested. So are industry – be part of their training.

What we expect of You Apply at gts.chalmers.se Your participation at all sessions in a course Your constructive feedback after completion Please cancel your participation in the booking system at least 1 week in advance if you have to cancel a course. If you cancel later than 1 week prior to the course start, your department will be fined 1000 SEK. If you fail to show up without cancelling your participation, your department will be fined 1500 SEK

Registration in Ladok If you are not yet formally admitted as a PhD student in Ladok we cannot register your participation today- contact GTS once you have been admitted. Registration in LADOK can take up to 2 months ”It is important you sign the participant list available at the venue, since attendance is compulsory for all Chalmers PhD students and to ensure your attendance is registered. Please note that if you attend the course prior to being formally admitted as a PhD in Ladok the GTS student administrator cannot register your attendance. It is then your responsibility to notify the GTS team as soon as you are admitted as a PhD, so that your attendance can be registered in arrears yet as soon as possible after your attendance. If unsure whether you are admitted in Ladok or not yet, please check with your own department’s student administrator in first instance.”
Feedback from PhD students Quality Work and Evaluations Deliver good quality to you Summary: GTS activites started 2012 september and they are continously developed as a result of the feedback we get from the participants and teachers. All courses are evaluated via a questionnaire. The GTS activities do not replace but complement mobility of students, schools of entrepreneurship etc In these short courses, that often are blended PhDs from different reserach area meet and learn more about communication, groupdynamic/leadership or utilisation – they experiment and reflect together upon their own their work and its relations to the bigger world, and behavour. They learn and re-learn, they also learn how to learn. They develop new networks of thoughts and develop new relationships. Their learning are aimed to be introduced in their everyday work to develop their skills further to make the most of the every day situation they are in. The learning or knowledge can facilitate the creationof a more sustainable world. We want them to know more about how they are percieved by others and and how they choose to relate to their surrounding.
