Rabbits were randomized to either an experimental surgical group (Phimester hemiepiphysiodesis, or “PE”) or to a sham surgical group, and then to either a regular 14% kcal fat diet, or a high 47.8% kcal fat diet. Force measurements were taken on all animals, but some could not be included in the final analysis due to sensor failure; this is reflected in the numbers shown. 1–3 animals from each time point were assigned to be histological examples; all others underwent biochemical analysis.
