Characters Lisa - (money saver) Wendy - (money spender)

Lisa: “So, Wendy we both got our paychecks, what are you going to do with the money?” Wendy: “I’m going to buy new clothes and get my hair and nails done!” Lisa: “Wow! That sounds really good. I need to get my nails done too.” Wendy: “Well, why don’t you come with me then?”

Lisa: “ I would if I could Wendy, but I need to pay my bills and save a little of my money in case something goes wrong and I have to pay for it.” Wendy: “Oh, that sounds like a smart thing to do.” Lisa: “It is Wendy, I save a lot of the money that I get. I am paid $100 a week. I save 10%, share 10%, and spend 80% each week. It is a smart way to save.

Each week, if you save 10% of your earnings, you can buy something you want. If your car needs to be fixed or if you need to get something new because the old one wont work anymore, you can pull the money out of your savings. It is a really smart thing to do.”

Wendy: “Lisa, that is a great idea Wendy: “Lisa, that is a great idea! I think I will do the 10-10-80 thing, too! Lisa: “You will be happy with the results. I’m sure of it!” Wendy: “Thank you for telling me about this.” Lisa: “No Problem.”
