October is College Knowledge Month
Throughout the month Any student who completes an application, submits it and pays to send their transcripts will: Receive an “I applied Bracelet” Sign the College Board Receive a special treat celebrating your accomplishments
Applying to Colleges Many of the State Colleges and Universities will waive their application fee the last week of October (see list from Advisor also available on the Career Center page) College application Day will be Tuesday October 23 9:30-2:20 in the LMC, you MUST sign up in the Career Center You will have an opportunity to get a pre – signed pass in Advisement on Tuesday, October 23rd All students are welcome to work on applications that day
Options after high school Career Colleges 4 year College or University Community College Options after high school OJT Military Technical College Apprenticeships Gap Year/volunteer
A senior college checklist… Visit with Reps in the building Visit colleges with your parents or through the career center Check out the requirements for the colleges you are considering Ask for Letters of Recommendation, if needed Meet with your school counselor, if needed Start Applying to Colleges Have a conversation with your parents about financing your college Complete the FAFSA Start checking out scholarships
