Definition of Title I Title I provides federal funding to schools to help students who are low achieving or at risk of falling behind. Title I status is given to schools based on the percentage of students receiving free/reduced lunch. Schools with a free/reduced lunch percentage of 40% or more are eligible.

BGHS Culinary Donates Turkeys

Extra Reading and Math Supports Students are selected for academic support from a set of academic criteria including: Reading and Math Scores Reading Test (Lexile) District Reading and Math Assessments

Dogs in the classroom? It’s all academic.

Curriculum and Instructional Strategies Barry Goldwater has implemented a collaborative structure for teachers to improve their practice to support student achievement academically, socially and emotionally. A Title I paraprofessional provides individualized instruction on an as-needed basis.

The entire school benefits from Title I status! Technology Title I funds in a school must be used to improve the academic achievement of students. Staff development to help parents/families Targeted data driven interventions to help students

Parent/Family Right to Know Parents/Families have a “Right to Know” if their child is taught by a teacher that is NOT highly qualified for four weeks or longer. Currently, ALL teachers on BGHS’s campus are highly qualified. All students will receive their reading, writing and math AZ Merit scores. Upon the request of parents/families, the school must provide opportunities for regular meetings for parents/families to make suggestions and to participate, as appropriate, in decisions about the education of their children.
