Short-term measures taken for winter 2017-2018 CWE TSO’s acknowledged in 2017 some issues when looking at the FB capacities and implemented several measures before winter 2017-2018: Additional coordination for existing preventive and curative remedial actions (RA) in the DA process Go-live of RACT (remedial action coordination tool) Improved market forecast using centralized tool Improved coordination of RAs Extension of the list of non-costly RAs for coordination in the DA process New preventive RAs for TenneT NL & TenneT DE Preventive PST RA for Elia to guaranty a minimal reduction of BE loopflows Use / extension of dynamic line rating (based on weather forecast) within Amprion / Tennet grids Extension of DLR (based on Ampacity forecast technology) within Elia

KPI’s winter 2017-2018 In below graph the max. import capacity for BE + FR are compared between winter 16/17 and 17/18 where one can observe that on average this important indicator has increased with +/- 1800MW.
