Elementary School Highlights Six elementary schools demonstrated growth in English Language Arts from the previous year; two maintained. Seven elementary schools demonstrated growth in math from the previous year; two maintained. More than 50 percent of students are meeting or exceeding standards in English/Language Arts at eight elementary schools. Two elementary schools (Crestview and Santa Susana) demonstrated double-digit growth (10%) in Math from the previous year. As a district, SVUSD elementary, middle and high schools demonstrated a growth of 2 percent in English/Language Arts and 1 percent growth in math.

Middle School Highlights All three middle schools demonstrated growth in Math. Sinaloa Middle School’s 8th graders demonstrated a 10 percent growth in Math. Hillside Middle School’s 8th graders demonstrated a 9 percent growth in English/Language Arts. More than 50 percent of students at all three middle schools are meeting or exceeding standards in English/Language Arts.

High School Highlights (Grade 11) Simi Valley High School demonstrated a 20 percent increase in English/Language Arts. Simi Valley High School demonstrated a 7 percent increase in Math. Santa Susana HS has second highest score in the county in ELA and math. More than 65 percent of 11th graders at all three high schools are meeting or exceeding standards in English/Language Arts. 59 percent of 11th graders at Santa Susana High School are meeting or exceeding standards in math. Our overall scores as a district exceed the county and state averages in ELA and mathematics.
