Tea Party Exercise Front Side For this assignment I will split you guys into two groups: Greek and Roman gods. The Greeks will stand on the right side of the classroom and the Romans will get up and stand on the left. I will then hand you an index card with the name of a god or goddess on the front and a brief description of his or her powers on the back. You will use the information on the back of your card to find your partner by matching the same powers. Bacchus Dionysus Greek god Front of index card Roman god Front of index card

Tea Party Exercise Instructions: Once in your groups, spend a few minutes discussing your god or goddess and his or her particular powers. Part 1: Now with your partner take the larger index card I just handed you and flip it to side with no lines. You and your partner are going to use the powers listed on the back of the smaller card to draw and color your very own Super Hero with his or her very own costume! You MUST use every power listed on your information card somewhere in the picture! And every space MUST be colored in completely to receive full credit.

Instructions Continued… Part 2: Once you have finished your drawing flip it over to the front side of the card with lines. You and your partner will work together again and answer the writing prompt “I Have Chosen The Super Hero(ine)…” and explain in five to seven sentences why you chose the designs you did for you Super hero! Example Questions: Why did you chose your Super Hero name? Explain. What colors did you pick for your heroes costume? Why? How did you use every power that your god(dess) possessed? Does your hero(ine) hold or use anything to enhance their power(s)? Why, why not? What is happening in the background of your picture? How is that important?
