Presentation transcript:

Your University logo goes here Type Your Poster Title Here This is where you put your name, year and where you are presenting this poster Introduction Make sure you cover only the key studies that directly pertain to your study. You don’t want to waffle on about everything because you don’t have the space. So you have to prioritize; only vital information should make its way onto a poster. Be sure to include your AIM HYPOTHESES These are vitally important on a poster, they show your audience what it is your poster is all about. People should be able to read your poster and understand what you wanted to achieve without asking you any questions. Methods You need to summarize your method here but don’t forget to include the basic elements just as you would in a normal lab report. This might be a poster, but it follows the same pattern. You can use bullet points here if it’s a bit easier Can make it all a lot easier to read Particularly for non-specialists in your project area Make sure you include enough detail on your procedure so it is clear what you have done in your experiment. You want people to focus on the results you’ve presented rather than ask questions about what you did. Results You must put only your most interesting results here – you probably don’t have space to report everything you found. Stick to main interactions and analyses unless you have space for more. Don’t think that shrinking the font will help you, it will just make people squint when they’re reading your poster, then you’ll give them a headache when all you want is to give them information. It is better to have interested people asking you questions than grumpy people with all the information walking away with eye strain! Put your main picture or graph here Figure 1: Your caption to go here Space for a graph, picture or table here Figure 2: Your caption to go here Space for another picture, graph or table of data Figure 3: Your caption goes here Discussion and Conclusions It’s good to put conclusions in a separate box, it makes them stand out. If you have space link to the previous research you mention in your introduction, but try not to include your entire discussion as this really is just a space for conclusions – you don’t have space on a poster for a full discussion. Interested people can ask if they want to discuss any of your results with you. Make sure you include your most important main conclusions here and why you drew those conclusions. References Type your references in here I recommend you use bullet points here It makes it very clear that each reference is separate
