Two main types of cells: Prokaryotic cell: a cell without a nucleus Concept 1: Scientists classify cells into two types based on the presence or absence of a nucleus. Two main types of cells: Prokaryotic cell: a cell without a nucleus Eukaryotic cell: a cell with a nucleus Prokaryotic cell Eukaryotic cell

Prokaryotic Cells Prokaryotic cells: Do not have a nucleus Simpler than eukaryotic cells Have fewer internal structures prokaryotic cell: a type of cell without a nucleus and whose internal parts are not surrounded by membranes Figure 1.10: Prokaryotic cell
