What are the characteristics and distribution of natural hazards?

Group task – Map from memory In groups of 4 Number yourselves 1-4 You will each have 15 seconds to look at the map, which you will need to re draw on your own map. You may not communicate whilst you are looking at the map!

What does this tell you about how you should read maps? How did you do? 10 marks in total! Did you include a title? Did you include a key? Did you include lines of latitude? Did you include a scale? Did you correctly locate the hazards? (One mark for each hazard)

Stick in a copy of the map. Annotate it to describe the distribution of the hazards Where do we start when describing distribution? Distribution: the way in which something is spread out over an area

Discuss Where is the world is the most hazardous place to live? Where in the world is the least hazardous place to live?
