Erin hunter. Authors project. By Ryan LARSON

About the author… Erin hunter, surprisingly is actually 4 different people! AKA a pseudonym. These four authors work hard to create these amazing series. Here is just some info about them. Names: Victoria Holmes, Cherith Baldry, Kate Cary, and Tui Sutherland. Birth dates in order of their names: 7/17/1975, 1/21/1947, 11/4/1967, 7/31/1978. Victoria Holmes currently lives in London England. Cherith Baldry lives in Reigate England. Kate Cary lives in an unknown location in London. Tui Sutherland lives in Boston Massachusetts. Awards won by the authors…Into the wild has been nominated for 2006 young readers choice awards. The Sight was also nominated for the childrens choice book awards and middle readers book at Amazon.com best book of 2007.Victoria Holmes grew up on a farm loving animals and often dreamed of being one of the cats in her books and had a lot of energy and passion. Cherith Baldry also grew up on a farm with a love for cats. And even named 2 cats in her books after her actual 2 cats, Bramble and Sorrel. Kate Cary grew up with cats all her life. And when writing, often helping with ideas for books. Now has 3 amazing cats. Tui Sutherland was born in Venezuela and moved a lot in her lifetime and finally settled in the united states. Although she was a dog person she still loved to imagine brave wild cats living in the forest. And was soon one of the main writers, of Erin Hunter. Some important facts about them is that Erin hunter is actually 6 people but with these 4 main ones to the right. They all have a love and passion for animals. And they all work together to create amazing books.

The Three Books… Warrior cats :Crookedstars promise, Yellowfangs secret, and Tallstars revenge. Crookedstars promise was published in 7/5/2011 by Tallstars revenge was published in 8/26/2014. yellowfangs secret was published in 1/1/2012 All by Erin hunter.

Yellowfangs secret. Yellowfang is a shadowclan cat who wishes to become a great warrior. But when she becomes an apprentice. She realizes her paws are going elsewhere. Hard times lie ahead for yellowfang she will soon find her destiny.

Tallstars revenge After a tragic accident, Tallstar is filled with grief and anger. All towards one cat, his name is sparrow. Tallstar sets off on a path few others follow. In search for revenge. But a sudden surprise awaits. His path is about to take another turn.

Crookedstars promise Two brand new kits are born. Riverclan is rejoicing. Crookedstar is just a kit with his brother Oak kit When a tragic accident happens, and he breaks his jaw. Soon after his mother rejects him and he becomes desperate. Some time later a strange dream occurs and he makes a seemingly harmless promise. You will soon find out that it is not just a harmless promise.

Erin Hunters style/ technique. Erin hunter notes: Erin hunter is a unique writer, she likes to use characters eyes to show what they are thinking or doing. Another thing that I noticed is that in all three books its always 1rst person, and often times switches between a few main characters. Which helps with perspective, point of view of the characters and there story/ reason for why they do certain things. Which that really helps with the book being interesting. And explaining why things are happening. Also another thing I noticed is that she often likes to right it as if the cats are almost always at one point, oblivious to things that happen. And or things that are going to happen. Its can get funny because the reader is human, and the cats only do things cats would do. And some of the things humans are unthinkable to the cats. Which for us, is everyday life. Another technique she uses is because all the authors have pets. Depending on what book they are writing. Using they're actions to help what the animal in the book was doing, and or they’re personality. And even they’re names! Last but not least. This is a style of writing she uses is imaginary. To emerge the readers into the book. To make it feel like the reader is in the book as well. Another one is vocabulary. She puts in words the character uses for other words. For example, the warrior cats use the word “monster” for cars, and thunder paths for roads. And there is more. But they not as commonly used as these ones. These are just some of the things or techniques I saw her use when reading 3 of her amazing books.

Types of characters she likes to write about. I have noticed that she almost always picks a character who is a good person but has a lot of tragedy in their lives. But always come through. And often times has a strange or heartbreaking destiny. That ends in peace. Or in, for example, someone dying and then they realize something that makes them burst with happiness before they die. Which I still think that’s a good ending. For example This is a spoiler, so be prepared. In Bluestars prophecy, her life is filled with grief 2 of her family members die. And then has to make a decision that will change her life forever. Later on she becomes leader of thunderclan, and loses faith in her ancestors, later on she saves the life of a clanmate and dies in the process, but regains faith in the process. That is actually a good example of one of erin hunters typical endings.

Erin hunters common themes and issues Here are just some common issues and themes Erin Hunter uses: Erin Hunter often uses these 3 themes, your choices matter. Don’t judge a book by its cover, and your kindness will come back at you later on. Some common issues in her books are for example, often times its food, or water. And/or a cold hearted character that does something bad, murders, kidnap, etc… these are just the common ones. There are more. You will find more. If you read the right book.

My opinion on erin hunter and her books are that,I love them My opinion on erin hunter and her books are that,I love them. They are amazing. But often times they influence or guide the main character in ways i don’t like. For example. A cat loses its whole entire family. And it leads the cat to be determined it never happens again to another cat. And grief, is almost always used in her cat books to cause the influence and guidance to there destiny. But otherwise they are amazing books. My opinion.

Erin Hunter recommendation I recommend Erin hunters books for ages 9-14 because She writes amazing books, but they tend to get a bit long for ex, a 7 year old boy. But they are good books for projects because they are good sized, often times have clear life lessons and themes. And are just plain fun to read. Especially the 6 main series. With 6 books each. Please read these books when you get a chance. They are amazing.
