What are the President’s judicial powers? Reprieve - to delay the impending punishment or sentence Pardon - the forgiveness of a crime and the cancellation of the relevant penalty Commutation - the reduction of legal penalties, especially in terms of imprisonment Amnesty - allows the government of a nation or state to "forget" criminal acts, usually before prosecution has occurred.
