Organizational Skills Surviving Junior High School is all about being organized. Here are some tips for helping you develop an organizational system that works for you! Use a planner to -record your assignments when you get them -manage your multiple classes, and -keep track of upcoming projects
Time Management We all have 168 hours a week. Here’s how to make the most of your time. -figure out realistic times -make a schedule that works for you -keep a monthly calendar, and -coordinate with your family
Active Listening Active listening requires more than just hearing. It requires you to listen for meaning. -pay attention to the speaker -avoid distractions -don’t interrupt until the speaker finishes, and -ask questions when you don’t understand
Note Taking Taking good notes makes studying easier. Use these tips to help. -copy notes the teacher writes on the board -listen for clue words, and -review your notes as soon after taking them as you can, and schedule time for regular review
Study Tips Make the time to study for tests. It pays off! -study in a comfortable place -plan for breaks -schedule study time, and -ask the teacher for help if you need it, BEFORE THE TEST
