You can get through anything with loved ones by your side 1

Being true to yourself makes you much happier than pretending to be someone you’re not. 2

Whatever doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger 3

You have to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes to get what they’re going through. 4

Nothing good can come from violence. 5

Theme = the lesson the author is trying to show in a story. ****

Steps to Finding Theme Steps: Finding Nemo example: 1. Make a list of “topics” for the story. 1. Love, family, Friendship, Bravery, Courage, Trust, Independence 2. Choose one, and state what the author believes about that topic. 2. The author believes that friendship can help anybody overcome obstacles. 3. Cross out the author believes that. 3. The author believes that friendship can help anybody overcome obstacles. 4. Take out any character names, or specific details to the story. (Notice: mine didn’t have any) 5. Write your final theme in a complete sentence. Friendship can help anybody overcome obstacles.

The title of my book is The Art of Racing in the Rain The title of my book is The Art of Racing in the Rain. Some topics in my book are loss, sickness, friendship, neglect, relationships, pain, and happiness. The author believes that loss can become easier when you have a friend. The theme of my book is loss gets easier with a friend by your side. Exemplar response.
