Upon completion of the program, graduates will hold a bachelor’s degree and have a strong foundation of higher education in the field of respiratory care. In addition, graduates will Identify professional leadership skills Develop advanced knowledge of effective health care service delivery Analyze behavioral, social, and cultural trends that influence management in health care settings.   Is the program accredited? The BSRT program has been approved by the State of Arizona and the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), Pima Medical Institute’s institutional accrediting agency. What are the requirements to enroll in the program? Applicants must have their RRT license with the NBRC and must transfer a total of 71 semester credits of specific coursework from a U.S. Respiratory program at the postsecondary level. The content of these 71 transfer credits shall consist of 15 general education credits and 56 respiratory technical credits. Additional transfer credit may be accepted as determined on an individual basis by the Program Director and the Online Education Director. If an applicant does not have the required 71 qualifying semester credits, Pima Medical Institute has additional online courses that may assist in qualifying for the program. How long is the program? The BSRT program consists of 60 weeks of content, or 70 weeks including semester breaks. Individual completion time may vary by student depending on individual progress and credits transferred. What does “fast track” mean? By transferring in additional general education credits beyond the required 71 qualifying credits needed to enroll in the BSRT program, an applicant may be able to reduce the time it takes to complete the program. Transfer of credit is determined on an individual basis by the Program Director and Online Director. What are the class sizes? Individual class size will never exceed 25 students.
