SKIN FACT - MOST PEOPLE THINK THAT IT ISN’T AN ORGAN WHEN IT IS!!! FACT - THE SKIN IS THE LARGEST ORGAN OF YOUR BODY!

This is a SECTION of skin, IT looks like cake! This diagram shows that skin does not have 1 layer - it has many.😎👑

The different parts of the skin THE TOP LAYER OF THE SKIN IS THE EPIDERMIS NEXT LEVEL DOWN IS THE DERMIS. ACROSS FROM THE DERMIS IS THE HAIR FOLICLE WHICH IS A MAMMALIAN SKIN ORGAN THAT PRODUCES HAIR. NEXT IS THE SWEAT GLAND. WHEN YOU DO SPORT YOU SWEAT AND SO THE SWEAT GLAND REGULATES THE BODY TEMPERATURE. THEN THERE IS A BIG LAYER OF FAT. FAT DOESNT JUST SLODGE ABOUT, IT KEEPS THE HUMAN BODY WARM. FAT ALSO STORES ENERGY.

HOW DOES THIS ORGAN REACT TO LIGHT? ULTRA VIOLET WAVELENGTHS CAN DAMAGE OR DESTROY THE DNA CELLS CAUSING MUTATIONS THAT CAN TURN INTO SKIN CANCERS. ONCE SKIN IS EXPOSED TO THE LIGHT, THE MELANOCYTES TRY TO COVER UP ALL THE CELLS WITH MELANIN, LIKE SUN HATS THAT BLOCK UV RAYS. THAT IS HOW YOU GET A TAN. HOWEVER, TOO MUCH UV LIGHT CAN ALSO CAUSE AN INFLAMMATORY REACTION – A SUNBURN. OUCH!

THANKS FOR LISTENING! i hope you enjoyed mY PRESENTATION ON SKIN!
