Prevention: Health Plans Chronic Health Conditions at ______ 33% of students with potential barrier to learning Anaphylaxis 1:17 students (103) Asthma 1:8 students (203) Diabetes 11 students Seizure Disorder 17 students Anxiety/Depression/Eating D/O 52 students ADD/ADHD 43 students Celiac Crohn’s Disease Sickle Cell Cerebral Palsy Cardiac Condition Autoimmune Disorder Anemia Kidney Disorder 15 students TOTAL 423 (including multiple diagnoses) In Massachusetts, the prescription rate for epinephrine for anaphylaxis more than tripled between 2003 and 2012. Asthma an average of 3 days per child. -ASRSD: 180 Students have asthma. -Potential 540 school days missed. -Students suffering from uncontrolled or poorly controlled asthma also demonstrate poor concentration, and lose time from class through tardies and dismissals.
