Australia Map Project: Day 1 Draw an outline map of Australia, including the island of Tasmania Label and illustrate each of the following physical features on your map: Ayers Rock Great Victoria Desert Great Dividing Range Great Barrier Reef Coral Sea Indian Ocean Pacific Ocean Label the capital city of Australia and mark with a star. Canberra Label the following major cities, and mark each with a small circle: Brisbane Melbourne Sydney Don’t forget to illustrate!

Australia Map Project: Day 2 Use a color, symbol, or pattern of your choice to indicate which parts of Australia have a wet climate (lots of precipitation).  (see precipitation map on p 176   in the atlas) Use a color, symbol, or pattern of your choice to indicate which parts of Australia have a dry climate (little precipitation).   (see precipitation map on p 176  in the atlas) Select 3 natural resources or industries to include on your map.  Use a different symbol for each to show where they are located.  (see resource map on p 177   in the atlas) Draw people (stick figures are OK) in the areas of Australia that have the highest population density.  (see population map on p 178   in the atlas) Create a map key that includes all symbols/colors/patterns use on your map (capital city, other major cities, wet climate, dry climate, natural resources, population, etc.)
