Why can’t we just be happy with what we have?

1) Happiness isn’t a destination, but a journey 2) Happiness isn’t about finding the right place but the right person.

Phil. 1:12-13 I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ.

Paul’s Imprisonment Acts 28:16 And when we came into Rome, Paul was allowed to stay by himself, with the soldier who guarded him. Acts 28:30   He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him,

Prov. 30:7-9   Two things I ask of you; deny them not to me before I die: Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the LORD?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.

The secret to true happiness is found in the person of Jesus Christ (v

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Phil. 3:8-10 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

2 Cor. 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
