DIONYSUS God Of Wine

Dionysus’ pets SYMBOL OF DIONYSUS Dionysus was the god of wine, His symbol included ivy, the snake ,and grapes. Dionysus’ pets Dionysus sometimes rides upon a tiger which he has sedated with wine out of its natural aggressive nature. In ancient times, he was accompanied by a donkey which he had endowed with human level intelligence and ability of speech, but he later gave it to his son, Priapus. Dionysus sometimes rides on a tiger which he has sedated with wine out of its aggressive nature. In old times, he was accompanied by a donkey which he had gave normal intelligence and a ability of speech, but he later gave it to his son.

Characteristics Personality Dionysus had many unique characteristics.First of all he had some characteristics of a goat. For example, he is often painted with tiny horns. He is also always wearing his crown of ivy and wine. This is because vines, yew, fir trees, figs and grapes were sacred to him. Personality Dionysus was usually portrayed as a god who had a very laid-back-go-with-the-flow sort of attitude. Some legends state that Dionysus was a cruel god while others saying that he is the “joy-god”. In truth these are both true. Since Dionysus is the god of wine, wine does have bad parts and good parts to it, so therefore, Dionysus’ personality is two-sided. Dionysus was usually portrayed as a god who had a very laid-back go-with-the-flow sort of attitude. Some legends state that Dionysus was a cruel god while other sources say that he is the "joy-god" (Hamilton 71). In truth, these are both true. This is because Dionysus is the god of wine. While wine does have its bad parts, it has just as many good effects. Therefore, Dionysus' personality, is, in part, two-sided.

Childhood What did Dionysus represent? Powers Dionysus had the power to drive his followers into a lustful frenzy. He also put drunkenness in people, and had the power to make illusions. He was a balance between the dead and living. What did Dionysus represent? He represent wine which he invented and madness, pleasure, wild frenzy\behaviour Childhood When Dionysus grew up, he discovered the culture of the vine and the mode of extracting its precious juice, being the first to do so;[24] but Hera struck him with madness, and drove him forth a wanderer through various parts of the earth Dionysus had the power to drive his followers into a lustful frenzy. He also instilled drunkenness in people, and he had the power to project illusions. He was also known as Bromios, meaning "roaring," because of his ability to shift into a bull or lion.
