LOCAL LEVEL Our local government is our county our township our city or village and our community

THE BRANCHES OF OUR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT The President, the Congress and the Supreme Court are each a part of a BRANCH of our government.

THE BRANCHES OF OUR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT The President is a part of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH.

The Congress is a part of the LEGISLATIVE BRANCH.

The Supreme Court is a part of the JUDICIAL BRANCH.

THE BRANCHES OF OUR STATE GOVERNMENT The Governor, the State Legislature and the State Courts are each a part of a branch of our government.

Michigan’s courts are a part of the JUDICIAL branch.

THE BRANCHES OF OUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT Most cities have local courts. District, circuit, appeals, and family courts are local. Local courts are part of the Judicial Branch.
