Presentation transcript:

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanakah, Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanakah, & Happy Kwanzaa! In the past week Kindergarteners have been learning about the different holidays around the world. So far we have learned a little about Christmas and Hanukah traditions. Next your child will be learning about winter holidays celebrated in Germany, Mexico, and Sweden. Important Dates January 10th Math Night 5:30-7:00PM January 14th PTO Meeting 5:30-6:30 PM January 15th End of 2nd Nine Weeks January 21s MLK Holiday-Schools Closed In the Classroom We are working on comparing groups of items and identifying which has more or fewer, ordering groups of items from least to great and greatest to least, and counting to 50 and back from 10. We will also be reviewing how to write numbers 1-15. Please practice these skills at home if only for a few minutes a couple of times a week. It will do wonders for your child. Homework Remember to keep reading at home along with reviewing sight word flashcards. Please begin reviewing digraph sounds as well if you haven’t already done so (sh, ch, th, wh). For example ask your child what sound ch makes and to give you a word that starts with that sound. Holiday Celebrations We are celebrating the holidays with lots of holiday cheer. We will be having a holiday party on Wednesday, a Grinch Day Thursday, and a Polar Express day on Friday. If you would like to donate a sweet treat or hot chocolate packets (we could use these items all three days) it would be very much appreciated. If everyone sends in a little something it will go a long way. If you are not able to contribute please don’t feel obligated! Thank-you and Happy Holidays! *** All items must be store bought and still in the original package as per ACPS policy 
