What is Makaton MAKATON IS A UNIQUE LANGUAGE PROGRAMME WHICH USES SIGNS, SYMBOLS AND SPEECH TO ENABLE PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES TO COMMUNICATE WITH OTHERS.

how does Makaton differ from British sign language? Makaton is designed to be used to support spoken language, for people with learning or communication difficulties. Whereas, British Sign Language is a language with its own structure and grammar and uses hand signs, body language, facial expression and lip patterns
