Early Years Curriculum In Nursery, we follow the Early Years Curriculum and Development Matters. The children learn through play. “Play is the highest form of research” Albert Einstein
Learning through play is a term used in education and psychology to describe how a child can learn to make sense of the world around them. Through play children can develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments.
Early Years Curriculum Each area of learning is implemented through planned play experiences and through a mixture of adult led and child initiated activity. Children are encouraged to move freely around Nursery, indoors and outdoors, using different areas of provision where they can select resources independently.
These areas of provision are; construction creative (painting and craft) fine motor(lacing, threading, pegs, jigsaws) malleable (playdough, clay, sand etc.) mark making Movement/gross motor music reading role play small world (cars, farm sets, dinosaurs etc) water sand outdoor
Areas of learning Your child will mostly be taught through independent and adult led games and play. The prime areas of learning are: communication and language physical development personal, social and emotional development literacy mathematics understanding the world expressive arts and design
Profile Files Each child has a 2Simple Online Profile. The profiles contain work your child is proud of, work the Nursery staff feel demonstrates good learning and observations of your child by the Nursery staff. The profiles will be sent to you every half term, please take time to look at the profiles with your child. We would also like you to contribute to your child’s profile, by sharing experiences from home. (THIS IS WHERE I WILL DO 2SIMPLE PARENT TRAINING)
