WHO ARE WE? The World Bank Group (WBG) Youth Summit Organizing Committee is comprised of young WBG employees and supported by WBG Senior Management. Established in 2013, the Youth Summit is an annual event held by the World Bank Group (WBG) to engage with youth globally on the most pressing topics facing their generation. The primary goal of the Summit is to empower youth to find their own innovative ideas for development and provide a platform for dialogue between youth, the WBG, and the international community. In 2017, the Youth Summit generated over 1,800 applications, engaged over 400 participants, attracted over 12,500 viewers online and received 500 competition entries from more than 150 countries.

YOUTH SUMMIT 2018: Unleashing the Power of Human Capital A key determinant of a country’s competitiveness is its human talent—the skills, knowledge, and experience of its population, better known as “human capital.” Disparities in productivity begin in the earliest stages of life and continue to be exacerbated throughout an individual’s life, impacted by a variety of factors including health, nutrition, and education. Recently, innovation has ushered in a new future where technology and uniquely human characteristics are leveraged in equal measure. This year’s Youth Summit will seek to provide youth with a forum to share their ideas and learn from one another, encouraging the creation of innovative and equitable initiatives and the development of capabilities required in our ever-evolving future. IMPORTANT DATES: October 14th, 2018: The closing date for entries to the Youth Summit Competition October 15th, 2018: The closing date for regular registration to the Youth Summit December 3rd and 4th , 2018: The dates of the 2018 Youth Summit which takes place in Washington, D.C.

SUBMIT YOUR IDEA REGISTER HERE PARTICIPATE IN THE SUMMIT IN THE COMPETITION Deadline for submissions: October 14th The Youth Summit Competition is open to individuals or teams of 1-4 people aged 18 to 35, from all over the world.  Participants should propose an innovative and action-oriented idea that contributes to building human capital, the greatest asset of economies globally. To find more information about the application process, please visit the link below: End of regular registration period: October 15th The WBG Youth Summit 2018 invites youth (aged 18-35) who are passionate about investing in human capital. Interested individuals should submit a brief statement, introducing themselves and highlighting their passion for innovation. Due to limited capacity, a pool of candidates will be selected from all applicants to attend the event. Applications received after October 15th, 2018 will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
