Primary Newsletter – Friday 1st December 2017 TAG RUGBY TOURNAMENT On Thursday 23rd November, a team of year 6 students took part in a tag rugby tournament. They won their pool against 5 other schools and made it to the semi finals, where in the last 30 seconds the other team scored a trail. We came joint 3rd out of 18 schools. What a great success! ATHLETICS TOURNAMENT On Friday the 24th November a team of students from Year 3 and 4 took part in an athletics tournament at the Thunderdome. They took part in the field & track events throughout the day. Sheena from 3W won an award for having the spirit of team work. Everyone did really well. YEAR 4 AND 5 ‘ONE DANCE’ PERFORMANCE Congratulations to St Matthew Academy's Year 4 and 5 dancers who 'wowed' the audience at the One Dance UK conference at Trinity Laban. Their high energy contemporary dance drew it's inspiration from African poet Lebogang Mashile's poem "I dance to know who I am'  and involved some very complicated and dynamic partner work and movement phrases. Well done to all the children who worked so hard and thank you to Ms Smith and all the teachers who gave up their time to support the trip.
