What is the periodic table of elements?

Once upon a time…… Scientists were discovering that all matter was made up of small particles called atoms are far back as 384 BC (Aristotle) Over time scientists realized that elements were made up of one single type of atom Scientists developed models to help us understand what these atoms look like. The easiest one to understand is the Bohr model

And then…… Dmitri Mendeleev devised a table in which to organize the elements (1869) in order to make them easier to study and understand.

Each element has its own box full of information

Element name Atomic number = # of protons Elements symbol Atomic mass= protons + neutrons

Use the box from the periodic table to draw a Bohr Model
