Elements of designs By Lemeki

Lines is straight, curvy, heavy ,light soft, hard or even a mix of all of them. The strange things about lines is that they can pop up in your designs when you didn’t expect it to. Lines can give shape a character by being on the edge or surface.

When I say “shapes” I bet the first thing that pops in to your head is probably a circle , square, triangle and ect.But shapes is more than that, shape is something sharp, clear or hazy it can be bordered by a line and can be defined by colour ,texture and tone.

Colour is an element of design with endless variety Colour is an element of design with endless variety. Colour is a temperature Red, Yellow and orange are hot colours because orange is like the sun , red is like the hot sand in a desert and yellow like a chilli .Cool colours are blues greens cause they are like water and ice.

Tone is shadow ,dark and light it is how much light you let in Tone is shadow ,dark and light it is how much light you let in. Tone can give an image volume and weight also the solidity.

Texture is part of the surface that you can touch or see Texture is part of the surface that you can touch or see. Texture is about touch and how something feels for eg. It could feel smooth, rough, spickey, wavey and more.

est Direction is not all about turn right and etc. But it is how your eyes looks around your work.it can suggest a movement of speed at which you can change.

Size is about the big and the small Size is about the big and the small. It can make a particular seem important.Size can make large things seem small and make small things seem bigger.

Mass is how much material in any sculpture Mass is how much material in any sculpture. Mass can be heavy and light depending on the effect.

That is the element of design
