YorSexual Health Integrated Sexual Health Service: All clinics offer integrated services, where service users can have the majority of their sexual health needs managed by one appropriately trained health professional in one place. Each Service offers a mixed economy of Appointment and Walk in services

Supporting easier access There is one single phone number for people to use to book appointments or seek out advice. (01904 721111) Online appointment booking options are currently being developed and we are hopeful that this will be live very soon.

Greater Patient Choice: www.yorsexualhealth.org.uk There is a much greater emphasis on self help and technologies that reduce the need for face to face contact, a range of sexual health care can now be provided though virtual services. Consultations and advice over the phone Online ordered home testing kits for some of the more common STI’s Home treatments for chlamydia Telephone follow up reviews/advice and signposting Individual Condom ordering Online (about to go live in September)

Partnership Working A significant change in the approach to sexual health care in North Yorkshire involves new partnership work with local GPs, with some of our services located within GP practices, health centres and young peoples services This should improve access and reduce stigma Partnership with Community Pharmacies North Yorkshire will support access to Emergency Hormonal Contraception, Chlamydia screening and condoms for young people.

We Aim to: Increase GP’s and health care professionals’ awareness of sexual health issues within their local communities through collaborative working and regular Educational events and professional training Develop a shared approach to providing services that meet the needs of their local community (we are looking to develop shared care pathways for LARC)

Use of technology Social Media and innovation Website offering information to both SU and Professionals The use of social media is increasing, embracing the latest digital engagement approaches Facebook and twitter “you said, we did” postings of how we have implemented changes or responses to patient feedback and complaints
