Class Overview Syllabus to follow This is a survey course which should be a good comprehensive look at psychology and its basic principles. Most University bound students will take some form of psychology class in college at some point, so getting a jump on it is a good thing. Class is an elective class, so we are not as rigidly guided by standards and benchmarks as a core class. Class is a survey course and does not delve very very deep into any one particular area.

Why Take Psychology?

Class Norms 110%, 100% of the time Participation is a must People will share, respect their right to voice a viewpoint, it does not mean that you have to agree but respect them 1< rest of class Be efficient with class time Be accountable and make good choices Communicate, Communicate, Communicate

What do I need for Class? A notebook ( It will stay in class ) USB Email

Grading Policy We will grade on total points, so each assignment has a point value…some smaller and some larger. Keeping a running total of points is how you would figure out your grade. Do everything and you will be fine

Late Policy You may hand in late work 1 day half a letter grade 2-5 days 1 letter grade 5-10 days Max 75% Over 10 days Not collected or max 50%

Homework We will probably never have traditional homework in the sense that you do questions from a page ie p. 297 1-21reviewing key terms However, what we do not finish in class may become something you need to complete at home

Communication Email is the best mode of communication cjanderson@mpsaz.org
