Facial Expressions and Pitch A Social Story made especially for Tori 

Some things make me happy: -

My friends, family, and teachers can tell I am happy when I: - smile - laugh - use my “excited” voice When I am happy, my voice gets a little higher

I can let my friends, family, and teachers know I am angry by: Sometimes I feel angry. I can let my friends, family, and teachers know I am angry by: Frowning Saying “I am upset” Using my “angry” voice When I use my “angry” voice, it gets a little bit lower and sometimes louder.

I can let my friends, family, and teachers know when I am sad by: Sometimes I am sad. I can let my friends, family, and teachers know when I am sad by: - crying - Saying “I am sad” - using my “sad” voice My “sad” voice is usually softer than my other voices.

It is important that my family, friends and teachers understand how I feel My facial expressions and the pitch of my voice are ways I can show people how I am feeling.

I will try to smile and make my voice higher when I am happy!

When I am angry, I will frown and make my voice a little lower and louder (but not too loud)

When I am sad, I may cry and talk in a soft voice to let people know how I am feeling

Using my facial expressions and voice to show people how I am feeling will help me communicate more effectively with my friends, family, and teachers
