Wednesday 10/24/18 You do not need your Astronaut Textbook today. It can go in the storage cupboard. Notebook Entry: Yesterday we read about the types of objects that are in the sky. Make a list of as many of those objects as you can remember.

Objects in Space Satellites/Moons Meteors Stars Planets Comets Constellations

Sometimes the things we observe happen regularly and as a result repeat in a predictable routine. We call this a pattern and they are every where in the natural world. What patterns do we experience and/or observe when we look up into the sky… during the day? during the night?  throughout a year?    Write your ideas on a post-it note. One idea per note. Then come place the post-its onto the tree chart in the appropriate place for when the pattern occurs.

What causes these patterns? Patterns in the sky During the Day                       During the Night                               Throughout a Year What causes these patterns?

What pattern do you notice? What patterns do I notice in this phenomenon? 2. What are the boundaries of this phenomenon? What are its components and how do they interact? 3. What is going on at the unobservable level to cause the observable features or processes? 4. What scale or scales account for this phenomenon and how do I describe it quantitatively? 5. How do energy and/or matter flow into, out of, or within the boundaries of the phenomenon? 6. How does the structure of the phenomenon (or its components) relate to its function?
