Revision and Examination Strategies.

Revision for Examinations. Include Include rest periods. Revise Never revise one subject / curriculum area for too long Redo Redo your plan. Learn Learn what you know (put that to one side) and don’t know (revise this). Make Make plan

Exam Papers – Maximising your Mark Scan the paper – decide which questions you can do the most easily. For SOME exams, the easiest questions are at the start of the paper but that doesn’t mean every student will necessarily find those the easiest – Qu. 1 might be from a part of the course you either didn’t like or understand very well. Answer the questions you find the easiest first. If you get stuck, leave that question and go back to it later – getting marks under your belt increases confidence massively.

Exam Questions - Building an Answer Bullet Bullet point answers for clarity of explanation if necessary. Remember Remember – for written answers, for every mark you have to make 1 statement: e.g. a 3 mark question will require 3 parts to the answer. Write Write your answer Plan Plan your answer Think Again Think again – what is the question asking you to do Underline Underline key words - scientific and command words Think Think into the question Read Read the question
