Conflicts of Interest

The Take-Home Message Start with the core message, then build on it Start with a 3 minute “Elevator Pitch” approach, then build

Why? Justify from the get go why your research is important to the audience Why are you conducting this sort of research? Tell the story of your research

How did you get your results? How were participants recruited? Clinical study Avoid unnecessary scientific jargon that your audience will not understand

What did you find? What is the relevant data for your audience? Can you simplify by using figures or tables?

What’s next in this area of research? Finish strong!

What’s next? Summarize your key findings and how did your research answer your hypothesis? Model/diagram slide? What was new about your research? How does this fit into the current literature? What is next for your research or the field? How does this impact clinical care and the daily lives of people living with HIV?
