Some of the careers involve working directly with people, while others involve research into diseases or collecting and formatting data and information. Work locations are varied and may be in hospitals, medical or dental offices or laboratories, cruise ships, medevac units, sports arenas, space centers, or within the community. Pathway: Health Science Courses Year 1-Introduction to Business Year 2-Core Classes/BACC Health Careers & Medical Terminology Year 3-Physics/BACC Nurse Assistant Year 4-AP Science/BACC Advanced CNA, BACC Emergency Medical Technician, Internship *Related Electives: Intro to Oral Communication/Advanced Speech, Child Development, Psychology, AP Psychology, Sociology, Chem II, Dual Credit Chemistry,Biological Engineering, Molecular & Structural Biology, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, Honors Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Lifestyle Management, Foreign Language, Accounting College Majors (examples) Biotechnology, Biology, Community Health and Preventive Medicine, Dentistry, Emergency Medical Technology/Technician, Health Informatics/Medical Records Administration, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy Certifications High School: HIPAA, Certified Nursing Assistant, CPR & AED Certifications Heartland: Nursing Assistant, Practical Nursing, EMT Basic, and EMT Paramedic Briefly run through this slide as JUST an EXAMPLE of how easy it can be if they have a career interest already.
