“Time Passes” 6 – 10

Questions? Comments? Observations?

Answer the questions in your comp. book Answer the questions in your comp. book. Make sure to use as much textual evidence as possible! “‘Time Passes’ is and is not about the War.” Explain Woolf’s quote. How does she represent WW I in Part 2? What is the effect of how she chooses to represent it? In Part 2, what kinds of events are in brackets / parentheses? Why did Woolf do this? Examine Woolf’s use of the colors yellow and gray. Woolf mentions flowers and gardens in Part 2 a good deal. Explore her use of them. What do you think of the deaths of Andrew and Prue? Why would Woolf do this to us?!?! :-/ Why does the section end with Lily and the word, “Awake”? Is “Time Passes” about life or death?
