Summary In the book, The World According to Humphrey, a small hamster named Humphrey has a good life until Ms. Mac leaves room 26 for good. Mrs. Brisbane is their new teacher. Humphrey thinks that she is out to get him. He learns to read and write in his secret journal behind the mirror. He also has to learn how to survive at his classmates houses. Humphrey shoots rubber bands and fights Clem, Miranda’s dog. Will Humphrey get caught reading or writing? Will the lock on Humphrey’s cage get fixed? Read to find out!
