“The creative adult is a child who survived” – Ursula Le Guin Creative writing “The creative adult is a child who survived” – Ursula Le Guin

Your task You are going to write a paragraph/multi-paragraph composition that tells a story Do not write your name on your paper Your paragraph will be a response to the questions I give you You need to answer each question There is no minimum or maximum length for your paragraph The more vivid description and interesting language you use, the better Spelling and grammar don’t count – I’m looking for great ideas! Avoid dialogue and conversations. This is about imagery, description, and creating a mold of a new idea

Once you are done Give your story a title (keep the creativity going! – think of something original) Grab a piece of tape and post it up somewhere in the classroom on a wall for others to see When you are done, go around and read others You’re going to pick your top 3. Write down the titles and three sentences about why you like each one (9 sentences total). TO BE HANDED IN.

The Questions How long have you been on the planet? How did you get there? Describe (physical and personality) the two people who are with you Why is your spaceship damaged? When you decided to leave your ship, how far did you walk? What were you looking for? When did you realize you were being followed? Describe a creature you encounter When you were running away, you tripped and fell. What happened? What was the big surprise at the end of your adventure?
