Human Sacrifice The Aztecs had a cycle of 18 months, and for every 18 months there was a sacrifice called, a ritual sacrifice. The first thing that the Aztecs would do were first paint the dead body as a ritual After they would be placed on a piece of slab, and their heart would be taken out and placed up to the sun. Then the body would be picked up and thrown down the temple/pyramids stairs. After the body would be deposed in many ways. They would be feed to the animals or have there head on display for everyone to see. Unfortunately, there would be other ways they were sacrificed

Human Sacrifice Some ways that they would be sacrificed were shot with arrows, drowned, burned, or otherwise mutilated. The Warriors had a different type of sacrifice. It was called xochiyayotl or the flower war. The object was not to gain territory or kill the other opponent, but to capture them as food for the gods. Both sides of the battle were required to fight, and they were willing to die The people would be captured instead of killed, and then sacrificed to the gods. http://www.aztec-history.com/aztec-sacrifce.html

Same plot but at a different setting Picture of someone getting their heart taken out and placed up to the sun god

Warlike All boys in the empire would get a good education, no matter what their wishes were for a carrier. They would be taught astronomy, history, and especially religion were taught subjects in school. There would be physical training everyday on the battlefield. The Aztec had peasants who would carry weapons and supplies. Capturing warriors from other civilizations was how the Aztec warriors ranked up. There were different societies in the Aztec army. Groups of knights that held a high rank and a high place in society Men would wear uniforms representative of Eagles and Jaguars. Sometimes they would wear would helmets.

Tlachtli The Maya played Pok-ta-Pok. The Aztec played Tlachtli, a game very similar to Pok-ta-Pok. Players in Pok-ta-Pok and Tlachti would wear protective pads during the games. But all the players would still get hurt, injured, or even killed for losing the game. There is a large difference between Tlachtli and Pok-ta-Pok. In Tlachtli the people could use every part of their body, but their hands. In Pok-at-Pok they would only be able to use there hips. The Aztecs also played Patolli, a board game.

Tlachtli The Aztec had to make six pebbles make it across the board. The Aztecs would bet on home, property jewels, and sometimes themselves for slavery. Tlachtli was the game that was mostly played in the Aztec city. Just like Hide and Seek and Tag are the most common games in America.
