NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION “I believe the New Student Orientation is a great way to further understand the atmosphere of the school, while allowing the incoming student to make early connections with their fellow students and advisors.” - Student Testimonial (2016)

WHAT HAPPENS AT ORIENTATION? Meet other students with the same major Meet with academic advisors and learn about General Education classes Meet with your major advisor who gives you more information about classes you will take in your major Register for fall classes with the help of your advisors and orientation leaders Learn about campus resources Parent/Family Orientation - There is a separate orientation just for your parent/family member(s) where they learn how they can best support you Learn about being successful outside of the classroom Learn about all the ways you can get involved at CSUF

IS IT MANDATORY? COST TO ATTEND MANDATORY. If you do not sign up and attend, your admissions will be rescinded. Register on your Student Center through your Student Portal. Deadline to register is May 1, 2018 @ Noon COST TO ATTEND Student $85 1st Family Member $55 2nd Family Member $35

HOW TO REGISTER FOR ORIENTATION

HOW TO REGISTER… On Student Center, scroll down to Admissions section, and review the links at bottom of page. Make sure to review the links. Click on Orientation *This will not show if you have not accepted nor declined your admissions to CSUF and paid the required deposit.

PREPARING YOU FOR SUCCESS Student will also be encouraged to complete a PRE-ORIENTATION tutorial. Students will be required to complete a MANDATORY Title IX Training, which will also be accessible through the NSO Registration Site

CHOOSE AN AVAILABLE SESSION This page displays a list of all available sessions that the student is eligible to register for. The list displays each session’s date, and a brief description. Select desired orientation session. If no sessions are available, the student will need to contact New Student Orientation for further assistance.

HOW TO CHANGE MAJOR Students have the option to change their major themselves prior to matriculation. A list of open majors is provided and a student may change as often as they like. Each time a student changes their major they will be required to select a new orientation session that is applicable to their new major.

PARENT AND FAMILY ORIENTATION Freshmen students attending NSO have the opportunity to register up to two parents to accompany them to orientation and attend a special informational session designed for parents of Fullerton students. Regardless of how many parents are or are not attending, the student is asked to complete contact information for at least one parent.

PREPARING FOR NSO Visit www.fullerton.edu/orientation for a “Before Orientation Checklist” If required, register for Early Start Program (visit www.fullerton.edu/earlystart for more Information) Complete the “Not Anymore” Title IX Training & Pre-Orientation Check your CSU.Fullerton.edu e-mail Print your NSO Confirmation Page!
