ABOUT PMI Founded in 1972. Dedicated to student success. Quality education and hands-on experiences. Pima Medical Institute is dedicated to providing a quality education and hands-on experiences that help each student become the type of medical professional who meets the expectations of today’s employers.  Pima Medical Institute started changing lives more than 40 years ago. In 1972, Richard Luebke Sr. and his wife JoAnn brought to life their dream of providing students with a quality medical career education. They opened their first campus in Tucson, Ariz., preparing students to become nursing assistants. As the years passed, the Luebkes introduced more programs and opened additional campus locations to meet the country’s growing demand for quality health care professionals Today, the legacy of our family owned school continues. Richard Luebke Jr. and Mark Luebke lead the college their father founded more than four decades ago. We continue to be guided by the belief that our success as a school is measured by the success of our students.

Regulatory Information Accreditation, Licensing and Approval Information The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) provides institutional accreditation for Pima Medical Institute. Programmatic accreditations, state licensing, approval for veterans’ benefits, and other approval information can be found on the Pima Medical Institute website’s Accreditation, Licensing and Approval Information page.

Online Programs Online programs Associate’s Degrees. Bachelor's Degrees. PMI offers several fully online programs in which students can earn associate’s or bachelor’s degrees. Many students will complete a program on-ground at a PMI campus location and then go directly into an online associate’s degree program.

Associate Degree Programs Health Care Administration Fully online. Advanced Placement Track Radiography Designed for students with clinical experience; requires completion of externship PMI’s online associate degree programs include the Health Care Administration (HCA) program and the Advanced Placement Track Radiography program. Students in the Health Care Administration program complete all coursework online. The Advanced Placement Track Radiography program is designed for students who have experience in the field of radiography. Students in this program must do coursework online and complete a hands-on externship at a clinical site.

Bachelor’s Degree Programs Bachelor of Science in: Health Care Administration  Physical Therapist Assistant  Radiologic Sciences  Respiratory Therapy PMI offers bachelor’s degree programs for students who have already earned associate’s degrees. Students can earn a Bachelor of Science in: Health Care Administration , Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Sciences, or Respiratory Therapy. Admissions requirements for these programs vary. Students in these programs complete four semesters’ worth of coursework fully online.

Semesters and Sequences Insert calendar or schedule? PMI’s online programs are divided up into 15-week semesters, which are further split into 7.5 week sequences. Generally, students take half the courses in the semester for the first 7.5 weeks, and the remaining courses for the next 7.5 weeks. There is a one-week break between semesters. All of the semesters run concurrently, so a student can progress through the program without needing to take a break to wait for a particular course to be offered. ** Maybe insert links here to the programmatic calendars? Susan is working on these and should have them to Matt by Friday of this week.

Instructor Expectations Success! The emphasis at PMI is on student success. As such, our instructors are expected to truly engage in the courses they teach, and be in frequent contact with students via assignment feedback, email, course announcements, deadline reminders, and active participation in discussion boards. Communication is key! Timely grading and substantive feedback on assignments is essential, with an expected 24 to 48 hour turnaround. By adhering to published deadlines, faculty model the way for students and help set expectations. Faculty oversee student participation and progress, and step in quickly with intervention strategies if a student appears to be failing. Faculty work closely with their Program Director and Student Services to help students be successful. Completing a simple online progress report each week enables all support services to be made aware of any potential student issues.

Handouts After you watch this video, please review the handouts provided in the course. The Instructor Guidelines provides an overview of expectations and best practices. The New Hire forms must be filled out and completed before you begin teaching for PMI.
