Some history about the school The school was established in 1968 as a branch of Sofia High School of Fine Arts. The school becomes an independent Secondary Vocation Art School of Industrial Design to the Ministry of Culture in 1974.

The name of the school In memory of Academician Dechko Uzunov the school takes his name in 1987. He was a Bulgarian painter and was born in Kazanlak and died in Sofia at the age of 87.

The building In 1987 the school moved in a new building built especially for it and it is used as a standard for all the applied arts schools.

The School has the unique chance to find and train the young talents in the pure artistic atmosphere of the town of Kazanlak that has already established traditions in the area of art culture.

Majors 31 alumni passed through the unique co-existence of the three majors: Design, Fine Arts and Lute-Making from 1968 till now.

While working… doing art Every year our students go for 10 days in a different Bulgarian villages and practicing their skills… but with the work there is so much fun.

After years of decay… Our school is now regenerating and reviving in a new way turning into a place only for person with art and contemporary outlook.
