The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum's annual Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial Service is held at the Shipwreck Museum on November 10. It has been years since this most famous of Great Lakes Shipwrecks was lost to a terrible November storm, taking her entire crew of 29 men with her.

The propeller of the Edmund Fitzgerald was a little over 21 feet tall. June 7, 1958, the Edmund Fitzgerald was launched into the Rouge River to start her journey to Wisconsin.

The Edmund Fitzgerald made frequent trips through the Soo Locks.

The lighthouse at Whitefish Point. Captain Ernest McSorley was trying to make it to Whitefish Bay for safe harbor. He never made it. The wreckage sits at the bottom of Lake Superior in 530 feet of water.

Side view of the ship. Part of the life raft that was found by the crew of the Arthur M. Anderson, after the storm. A second life raft was found in one piece and is on exhibit in Sault Ste. Marie, MI at the Valley Camp Ship Museum.

The bell when it was first brought up from the wreck. The after photo! A Call to the Last Watch Ceremony, where the ship's bell is rung once for each of her crew, and a 30th time for all mariners lost on the Great Lakes is held every year on the anniversary.
