AP EXAMS

What are they? Advanced Placement (AP) examinations are taken each May as the culmination of year-long AP courses. Like the SAT and subject tests, AP exams are published by College Board. STEM offers the following AP classes and exams: AP US History AP Chemistry AP Calculus AB AP Literature Anyone taking an AP class is required to take the AP exam for that class.

Why should I take them? They can earn you college credit or placement. Scores of 4 and 5 show that you have mastered college level work and bolster your applications.

How are they scored? On a 1-5 scale. Scores of 3 and higher are considered passing. We recommend submitting scores of 4 & 5 when you apply for college.

How do I sign up and pay for AP exams? Students register for exams in March in their classrooms. STEM pays for students to take the AP exams. Go to https://apstudent.collegeboard.org/home to learn more.
