Welcome to Breakfast of Champions April 26, 2018

Ms. Beth Adams

Rixi Cortez Rixi is the type of student that makes you glad you became a teacher. She is always smiling and begins her work without complaint. She is a compliment to her parents and family. Every teacher should have the honor of teaching Rixi Cortez.

Mr. Erik Boulier

Allyson Ireland When deciding on this honor, I thought about my students that were the best academically. I thought about my students that were the hardest workers, the most dependable, and the best leaders. I even thought about my students with the best character. Regardless of the criteria, Allyson's name always showed up. While she is quiet and reserved much of the time, she should not be overlooked. Allyson Ireland is pretty awesome, and definitely deserving of this recognition.

Mrs. Elizabeth Hensley

Kolby Adams From day one, Kolby always strives to understand chemistry, not just go through the motions. Many of his classmates’ glide through the material believing the subject will never touch their lives again. Not Kolby. He is not afraid to ask questions or for clarification on a concept. He truly seeks to know why a process works the way it does and relates it back to his everyday life. Kolby is a pleasure to teach as he is a shining example in all aspects; the classroom, the ball field and peer interactions. There has never been an unkind word or attitude and he always has a smile. I know the future will hold great things for this fine young man.

Mrs. Tanya Hyman

Rashad Hurst I am happy to recognize Rashad Hurst as my Champion. Rashad has demonstrated good character all year in my class. He always seems to be in a good mood and has a wonderful smile. He is genuine, kind, considerate and respectful to me as well as his fellow students. Rashad is also a talented athlete but he does not let that get in the way of academics. What most impresses me about Rashad, however, is his determination. He will always ask for help if he does not understand something and he will practice or ask for more help until he gets it right. This is an exceedingly rare trait for a lot of students but Rashad never complains about having to put in a little extra work. I am so glad that I've gotten to know Rashad this year and I look forward to seeing what is in store for him in the future. The habits he has established will certainly help him achieve his goals.

Mrs. Rita Porter

Vershunte’ Collins Vershunte' is a student who easily flies under the radar, but should be recognize for her outstanding work ethic. Though she is very quiet and unassuming, she is always positive and pleasant. Even though she has some health problems that keep her out of school sometimes, she always makes up her work without complaining. She never makes excuses about anything. If she is having trouble understanding what she is supposed to do, she asks for help. She listens to what you say and gives a hundred percent to everything she does. When I think of a student who portrays all of the characteristic that a person should have, I think of Vershunte' Collins. I have no doubt that her work ethic will benefit her in all walks of life.

Ms. Karen Rigsby

Brianna Lieblang Brianna is an amazing student and I enjoy having her in class. While she is certainly very successful academically, it is her character that is particularly impressive. She works very hard. She has a great attitude. She always smiles and never complains. I would consider her a perfect role model for other students. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic will serve her well, and I know she will accomplish incredible things in the future.

Ms. Mary Ann Stewart

Hannah Reynolds Hannah works really hard and applies herself in Science class. She listens to the class discussions and answers questions.

Mrs. Michelle Stone

Kaylin Taylor Kaylin is very conscientious student and works hard everyday in Biology. She is also very kind to others and very patient with the students in our rather spirited 8th period class. I have enjoyed teaching Kaylin this year. She is a great student and more importantly a lovely young lady.

Mr. Brett Tolbert

Good Luck, May the Force be with You, and Live Long and Prosper. Andrea Cortes My Breakfast of Champions for 2017-2018 is Andrea Cortes. Andrea is a self-motivated and goal-oriented person. She strives for excellence in the classroom. She is a leader in her group and makes people around her better. Andrea has excellent deductive reasoning skills which are an asset in Forensics. Every clip that I show from Forensic Files, she has already seen that episode and knows how the murder occurred and the Forensics used to solve the case. Andrea plans on attending Mississippi State University and major in Forensic Science. It has been an honor and pleasure having you in class this year. Good Luck, May the Force be with You, and Live Long and Prosper.

Mrs. Cynthia Voss

Ben Camara Ben has a positive attitude, participates regularly, and has a desire to learn. He definitely adds humor to all classroom discussions making them more interesting and entertaining. Ben is a student that any teacher would enjoy having in class and will be missed when he progresses on to the next class.

Congratulations Champions! April 2018
